CNNj Social Media Campaign Named As Finalist Of New York Festivals

I&S BBDO and its subsidiary company Proximity Japan have been jointly named as a finalist of New York Festivals by their social media campaign for CNNj, which is operated by Japan Cable Television Ltd. and Turner International Japan Inc.


New York Festivals launched in 1957 and have been highly evaluated among marketing specialists and creators as one of the biggest international media festivals in collaboration with United Nations. The awards cover all media categories such as TV, radio, print, interactive and PR. Advertisings from over 70 countries are juried by 300 distinguished creative directors across the world.

The social media campaign “You are the unique news to the world” for CNNj has been named as a finalist of its Digital & Interactive category. It was a promotional campaign of CNNj’s special program “Uniquely Japan 2010” by utilizing Twitter, Website and YouTube to get Japanese audiences closer to CNNj and this program. It succeeded to acquire much more postings, reaches and retweets than originally predicted, and extended the campaign period to meet such a great response.
